Playing with pull quotes

How does this look in the feed version?

I personally prefer summary Atom feeds to full ones, but I offer both on my weblog's home page. I've been playing with pull quotes for a while, but because the display of the full Atom feed version of the postings doesn't know about the style associated with them, they look like an extra body text paragraph that happens to repeat something from one of the other paragraphs. Now I'm embedding the CSS right in a style attribute of the blockquote element that holds the pullquote, so it should show up properly in the display of the full Atom feed version of each posting—or at least look a little better.

It looks fine in Bloglines in recent releases of Firefox and IE. Let me know if it's a mess elsewhere.

Sneetard Atom feed with ads, now available!

Inspired by Bill Trippe's weblog, I thought I'd try creating an Atom feed that had ads in it, so there's now a link to it in the lower right: http://www.snee.com/sneetard/sneetard-pheedo.atom. The dot com that makes it possible is called Pheedo. For a description of sneetard, I put 'Edgy, "ironic" sightings on the World Wide Web.' For a "feed category," I thought I picked "comics and humor," but the ads that show up seem to be music related.

Now, I'm going to kick back and wait for the big bucks to start rolling in.

December 13 test 2

I promise to delete these once I have it figured out. Do a View Source to see the tags I'm testing. The difference this time is that I have a base URL of http://technorati.com/tag instead of http://technorati.com/blogs, but I think that all that's necessary is the @rel value of "tag" and the tag value as the PCDATA.

December 13 technorati tag test

Some of my tags in bobdc.blog aren't showing up in Technorati (or rather, they were, then they weren't, which is worse), so I'm wondering about the effect of putting them in the Movabletype Entry body vs. the Extended Entry. This has zamfir4 in the Entry Body and zamfir3 in the Extended Entry.

Psychic House

I finally caught a new episode of 'Psychic House' last night. They've only been showing the episode where Max moves in and impresses everyone by the pool with his 'Open the beer bottle using only his mind' routine. I thought it was pretty cool but after a while he started to come off as a little 'showy'. Like a bartender hustling for a $5.
Anyway last night's episode was worth the wait. Somebody's messing with Dalek's peanut butter and he had a really intense breakdown. Although he blamed it on stress, he bent Moenique's cereal spoon while she was eating her grapenuts. She kept cool and did her "I see peace in the valley where the gifted use their powers for good." speech. I wish she'd come up with something else. It's getting a little over done. Alexx thought Dalek was accusing him of abusing his peanutbutter and they had a mentalist showdown. It was the first one of the season. This time it was a little different because Alexx challenged Dalek by the pool so it was kind of cool. Not sure of the result because the episode ended with them just staring at each other really intensely.
Also I'm pretty sure Reana and Chris are secretly hooking up. When he used to levitate her T-Shirt Reana would always say something sassy and storm out. But now she just giggles and uses her powers to brush Chris's bangs behind his ears. It's kind of sweet.
Gotta run. Starlett's on.

second try at using quickpost

sneetard

I forgot to set Post Status to "Published" the first time I used quickpost, and may have lost the entry.

first blog post

This is my first weblog, or "blog," entry. This part is the "Entry Body" that I'm entering into the movabletype form.

Here is a second paragraph. This is bold. This is italic. It's just amazing what they can do these days.
