Yngwie-Related Artwork

I can't put it better than the caption of drawing 2 by Teo Wei Yong.

I just like saying "yngwie.org" out loud over and over, like a mantra.

A Rubber Band Christmas

A Rubber Band Christmas

I think they really are playing, because if they were faking it the melodies would be more in tune.

interesting NYT Magazine article on Mannheim Steamroller

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/18/magazine/18christmas.html

"When I was in college, I was so straight classical," Davis told me. "Norman [Luboff] got my mind open."

And wait until you see the job titles of the two guys (Davis being one of them) who invented C.W. McCall, of "Convoy" fame.

December 13 test 2

I promise to delete these once I have it figured out. Do a View Source to see the tags I'm testing. The difference this time is that I have a base URL of http://technorati.com/tag instead of http://technorati.com/blogs, but I think that all that's necessary is the @rel value of "tag" and the tag value as the PCDATA.

More technorati tags in here.

December 13 technorati tag test

Some of my tags in bobdc.blog aren't showing up in Technorati (or rather, they were, then they weren't, which is worse), so I'm wondering about the effect of putting them in the Movabletype Entry body vs. the Extended Entry. This has zamfir4 in the Entry Body and zamfir3 in the Extended Entry.

Here is the extended entry part.

another technorati tagging test

This entry includes two empty a elements with a rel value of "tag directory". One has an href value of "http://technorati.com/blogs/zamfir3" and is written as a start- and end-tags with nothing between them, and the other has an href value of "http://technorati.com/blogs/zamfir4" and is written as a single empty tag. I'm confident that the first will show up in Technorati's tag directory, but I'm doing this to test the second.

Update: both work, but the fact that this is underlined means that something somewhere isn't recognizing the slash at the end of the zamfir4 single-element empty a tag, so it thinks that text after it is a link anchor, which is lame. I'll include the separate end tag from now on.

Stairway to Gilligan's Island on the web

See http://libraryofvinyl.blogspot.com/2005/11/mashistory-vol-1-stairway-to-gilligan.html. Does this make my vinyl copy more valuable or less valuable? There's one on eBay for $50.
